Si hablamos de grandes ferias españolas, no podemos olvidar La Feria de Abril, es la fiesta por excelencia en Sevilla, ya que ha sabido mantener intacto su folklore y sus raíces pese al paso del tiempo.
¿Qué es la Feria de Abril?
Es un evento lúdico, cultural y gastronómico, que acerca a curiosos de todos los rincones de España y del mundo. Además, está declarada Fiesta de Interés turístico internacional. Las señas de identidad de esta feria son el alumbrao, las sevillanas, el flamenco, los coches de caballos, las casetas, el pescaito y el rebujito.
Pero veámoslo con más detenimiento…
Este acontecimiento cultural se celebra desde hace siglos, concretamente desde el 18 de abril de 1847, fecha en la que se inauguró la primera feria ganadera. Aunque, ya contaba con 19 casetas y con sus bailes y cantes. El éxito fue tal, que se decidió celebrar cada año.
Hoy en día, la Feria tiene lugar en Abril y dura una semana. Comienza el sábado con la famosa noche del ¨pescaito¨ o del ¨alumbrao¨. Esa noche se inaugura la Portada y se encienden los farolillos que recorren el Real de la Feria de Sevilla. También, se abren las casetas con la tradicional cena, que consiste en pescaito frito y rebujito.
La Feria tiene lugar en el Real, es un gran recinto que cuenta con cientos de casetas verdes y blancas, colores de Andalucía, y está adornado con farolillos rojos. Además, cuenta con un gran parque de atracciones que se conoce como la Calle del Infierno.
En estos días las mujeres llevan el traje típico de flamenca, también conocido como traje de gitana, y los hombres traje y corbata. Allá por donde vayas podrás ver gente bailando sevillanas y tocando las palmas al ritmo de la música.

Además, los caminos del Real están inundados de coches de caballos adornados con cascabeles, ya que es el único medio de transporte permitido en la fiesta. En 2019 más de un millar de coches con sus jinetes recorrieron el recinto.
La Feria de Sevilla termina el domingo, cuando a medianoche, se apagan todas las luces del Recinto y se procede a la traca final, con un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales que retumban por toda la ciudad.

During these days women wear the typical flamenco dress, also known as gypsy dress, and men wear a suit and tie. Wherever you go you can see people dancing sevillanas and clapping to the rhythm of the music.
In addition, the roads of the Real are flooded with horse carriages adorned with bells, since it is the only means of transport allowed at the party. In 2019 more than a thousand horse carriages with their riders toured the site.
The Seville Fair ends on Sunday, when at midnight, all the lights of the venue are turned off and the final fireworks proceed, with a fireworks show that resounds throughout the city.
