La Feria de Sevilla
Sevilla estrena la temporada de ferias en Andalucía con su famosa Feria de Abril, una semana de celebración ininterrumpida para disfrutar del folclore andaluz en su máxima expresión. Este año comienza el sábado 4 de mayo a medianoche con el alumbrado de la portada y el ferial, y termina el sábado 11 a la misma hora, con el tradicional espectáculo de fuegos artificiales.
El ferial es el lugar dónde se vive la fiesta, un recinto con calles pobladas de casetas donde los protagonistas son el flamenco, las sevillanas, las guitarras, las raciones de jamón y gambas, el fino y el rebujito.
Por las mañanas, se pasea a caballo por las calles del ferial y se lucen los trajes de corto y de flamenca. Por las tardes, corridas de toros o la visita a la calle del infierno y sus atracciones mecánicas. La noche es larga en la feria, cenas, baile y música para todos los gustos desde la puesta de sol al amanecer, que despide a los más resistentes con el clásico chocolate con churros…para volver a recibirlos horas más tarde. Y así un día tras otro hasta que caiga el telón.
The Seville Fair
Seville opens the season of fairs in Andalucía with its famous Feria de Abril, a week of uninterrupted celebration to enjoy Andalusian folklore at its best. This year begins on Saturday May 4th at midnight with the lighting of “La portada” (the access gate) and El Ferial, and ends on Saturday 11th at the same time, with the traditional fireworks display.
El Ferial is the place where the party is lived, an area with crowded streets, populated by stands where the protagonists are flamenco, “sevillanas”, guitars, ham and shrimp rations, “fino” and “rebujito” (the most typical drinks on The Fair).
In the mornings, horseback riding through the streets of the fair and dress the short and flamenco dresses. In the afternoons, bullfights or visit to The street of hell and its mechanical attractions. The night is long at the fair, dinners, dancing and music for all tastes from sunset to sunrise, which dismisses the most resistant with the classic “chocolate con churros”… to receive them again hours later.
And so on day after day until the curtain falls.
